hello! i'm vaanya, and i'm choosing to ignore capital letters. hello! not out of carelessness, exactly, but out of affection for the way language looks when it relaxes, when it stops standing at attention and begins to tell the truth in a lower voice. don’t worry, not all my writing is like this.
i dream constantly, vividly, inconveniently. i am impulsive in the way that comes from thinking too much and deciding too late. for that reason i carved out this corner of the internet. here, you will find all that goes on in my brain when it is not busy: mafia stories that smell faintly of motor oil and incense, poems that try to hold the strange moral geometry of oppenheimer, brittle hybrid pieces about bullying that refuse simple pity, even long articles about the reception of achilles or the burden of national histories’ passionate views. i like all of them; i write all of them. i hope, with the private fervour of the person who puts their best things in view, that you will enjoy them too.
on a more serious note, though, a section of this website is ‘Once Upon a Ladki’ and it’s important to me to make a difference in the world we live in, not just the ones i create. it’s different from anything else here, and for a good reason/cause/both. if you have the time to, check it out! if you have the resources to, we’d appreciate the help.
other than that, i hope you like and/or support all my creative works and also, if you want to, get in touch, don’t hesitate. i love human interaction [haven’t reached the befriending AI stage in my life yet].
thank you for reading this long, strange note. a girl running on coffee and matcha appreciates it!
